Glenn - Why do you believe management is shopping the company? Is this just pure speculation? James, I have no facts so pure speculation is as good a way to word as any. I have been at this "game" for a lot of years and have a variety of companies acquired for which I held stock. This does not mkae my guess any better than others but I will try to explain why I am speculating. Rumors crop up on companies that are entirely untrue and are usually planted to change a stock's price for a short term movement. When rumors become quite frequent, as with ASND lately, the chances are much higher there is some fact behind those rumors. The industry in general is consolidating. Acquisitions are becoming common. See Cascade, US Robotics and Livingston within 9 months that come to mind. The consumer wants a a company with end to end solutions. There are a variety of candidates that ASND would benefit and these companies have the assets to acquire ASND. Finally, the companies I owned int he past while shopping themsleves, have a tendency to give very little forward guidance because they do not expect to be an entitity within themselves for long. Look as Cascade and US Robotics press releases and conference calls prior to being acquired. Compare that to Ascend's recent conference call. Those are a few reasons. I have others but not enough time to type them all. I am in Ascend based ont heir fundamentals but have bought some calls based on acquisition speculation. I also have a buyout price in mind. $48 per share. Glenn
