We only have to look at the sheer level of venom aimed at Obama since June or earlier to know how much of the country will treat his presidency. On the plus side, if he really excels, he may be able to win some over and take the momentum out of the more hateful, divisive movement. No doubt it will be a chance to start a new political era. We'll see if he takes it, assuming he wins in two weeks.
