Yep; we shouldn't have taken over Congress in '06. It's all our fault.

The democrat party is responsible for the divided country.

I guess that would be under W's curious definition of "personal responsibility", where it's always somebody else's fault. W is a uniter, not a divider, after all.

Just as a matter of curiosity, could you point out anything particularly offensive anybody has said about McCain here? I'm guessing I could easily pull up 10 really offensive posts from PfP about Obama for every mildly offensive post about McCain here, not that that would be a particularly enjoyable exercise.

MM,

Both sides have responsibility here. Another area where there is enough blame to go around. Being more of a centrist, I would say that more of the blame lies with the president because of his attitudes and the way he has governed but Pelosi and Reid have their share of the blame for the past 2 years.

At some point in time, I would hope this one upmanship will stop and Washington will work for good of the country and not the parties. Pelosi and Reid did that to a degree with the bailout package. If the dems win the whole shebang, I hope they will be magnanimous and not punitive towards the republicans. That could go a long way to solve the issues that Washington has had for the past several years.
