Do you even feel safe on the streets, knowing that any other person might be armed and shoot you at any moment?

No, I feel safer on the streets knowing that any person who might want to rob me does not know whether I have the means to defend myself or not.

In the UK, he knows you do not.

In regards to Iraq, previous behavior by Saddam Hussein leads one to a different take on the matter than that you pose.

Keep the door closed

They forced the door open.

Unless you have a rather solid door with a serious dead bolt its not exactly massively difficult to do so.

If you try and coerce someone with the threat of force, they refuse, and you then use force, you - not they - are the one responsible for that force having been used.

Iraq started the force when they invaded Kuwait. We overthrew that, and agreed to a cease fire, they also agreed to it. Don't follow the agreement and our agreement to not fire is also null and void.
