BC your word "ringy" rang a bell so I decided to check..

One has to be really, really old to remember this...

In the old'en days before computers, chart readers had to do every thing by hand. When looking for a bottom or top, they would wait for a 3 day pattern to resolve, like a little Vee, and visa versa for a top. When they were satisfied, they would simply walk up to the chart on the wall and draw a "Ring" around that point... talk about KISS...

this chart illustrates the Rings... biggest problem is, they had to wait 3 days for one to form... we just ain't got no patience these days...
