it's sad that we now have people who are seeing the latest economic woes and are saying "see, capitalism doesn't work".

This after capitalism has been systematically undermined with myriad government regulation.

To me, the current economic woes are more an indication of the failing of an economic system that is overly influenced and controlled by the government.

i'm curious-i,ve been following the market for a long time-and i have never seen moves like these--so i'm wondering who do you think is doing all the buying and selling--
a lot of hedge funds are gone but i suppose thats who is moving these markets up and down 50-100 points in a nano second

whats your thinking?

The first part is right, the second wrong, so stop laughing. It's an implied volatility measure, and can definitely go over 100. It has been calculated that during '87's Black Monday, it hit 172.
