So why is it that you believe you deserve to pay less on a percentage basis of earnings in taxes than me? Can you break this out a little and explain why you think somebody that makes over 250K per year pays more in taxes than somebody making 50K? The 50K earner pays almost 50% in taxes due to fica. Please, don't start a conversation using ONLY federal income tax and insult the intellect of people here. Include fica+federal in your calculations. the under $100K crowd pays the most percentage wise in taxes due to fica. Now, if they remove the cap completely on FICA and make everybody pay it for their ENTIRE income, then your point would be correct.
