It's good that you are going at it State Farm be damned. Your husband is right, the whole place would have been a tear down if you didn't get on that mold. Hell it was probably already much worse then it would have been if they had gotten on your roof in a timely fashion. Just can't understand that but be sure and keep reminding them of that as they try to screw you on the tear outs.

Make sure all your major communications with State Farm are in writing. If you have a significant conversation with the adjuster, follow up with a confirming letter. If this goes south and you end up in court, you will be glad you have the documentation. It also signals to them you are serious and possibly setting them up for a legal claim, so they might toe the line more readily.
