It really isn't. Unemployment isn't bad. We're not in a recession. Yes, there is a cash flow crisis due to Dem's mismanagement of the mortgage situation. But the economy is what the Dems want it to be (just as Candy Crowley, in a moment of honesty said -- "this is just what the Obama campaign was wanting").

This happens every election cycle -- the Dems talk down the economy.

I was speaking with my nephew this morning who runs our family's 40 year old fast-food business. His words to me? "What economic problem is he talking about? We're up 15% this year. If they make me start buying health insurance for my employees, THAT will be a crisis -- because I'll have no choice to to lay off a couple of employees".

Now, we may well enter a recession as the election gets here. Competent business people, all of us, are extremely concerned about the damage Obama will do to this economy. So, it will be no surprise to see us enter a recession if Obama is elected.

Talking down the economy is part of the liberal playbook. Has been since '92. Now, the right doesn't even stand up to it -- McCain said, "The fundamentals of the economy are strong" -- and he was absolutely right. But he was too chickenshit to take Obama on after the mortgage crisis.

If Obama doesn't clean up his mess in the 4 years he is given, then hopefully, the Republican candidate will be strong enough to confront him and say, "Hey, it is your mess, you couldn't clean it up, now it is our turn" -- and have the people believe him.

No, no Al. For our right wingnuts, the economy won't be crap until it's OBAMA's economy. THEN it will be total crap. Suddenly. It'll be like someone flipped a lightswitch.

Al, > What do you mean, if? I meant the economy of course...it is crap...

It is my opinion that as bad as things are right now, things will get worse before they get better.

The only question is one of timeframe.
