Thats why Obama outshone McCain at the Alfred E Smith dinner in NY recently .... oh wait, McCain had 'em rolling in the aisles while Obama was lame. Oh well, being witty is tough.calm, reflectiveness, consideration and courtesy. These are things easily faked and Obama wrote in 'Dreams' about learning how to 'handle white people' by staying calm and collected. I heard John Lott, a conservative who was at the U of Chicago when Obama taught there. He described being snubbed - Obama wouldn't talk to him, answer him, or even acknowledge his presence. Obama has never had a non-leftwing friend. He's not the nice guy he pretends to be.He's rational. He shows good judgment. LOL He said last spring that he didn't think his church was particularly controversial. Great judgment there. His VP choice hasn't spoken to the press in over a month and has no speaking engagements billed till the election, is famous for gaffes - we expelled Hezbollah from Lebanon, FDR addressed the nation on TV in 1929, we should react to 911 by sending $200M to Iran, ..... More good judgment on Obama's part. He took along a crooked slumlord already subpoened (and that was announced in the press) house hunting with him. When he bought his house, he let part of the house's yard be bought by the same slumlord's wife (who borrowed $500K to buy the plot of ground though she made only $37K a year and her husband had declared bankruptcy). Good judgment? Even he said it was bone-headed. And where are the people from Chicago telling America how Obama helped them ... get jobs, educations, etc? No he gave away $150M as chair of the Annenberg challenge with NO impact on educational performance in Chicago. He spent his years in Chicago aiding slumlords to the detriment of the Chicago poor.skilled politician He can deliver a good speech. Doesn't have good political judgement though - see above judgement examples. Also stubborn politically - after admitting the surge worked "beyond our wildest dreams" he insists he still wouldn't have chosen to do that if he could go back in time, he voted no on the babies born alive act which even NARAL didn't oppose - too stubborn to compromise politically. No. 1) the media has done a job on him and 2) Bush has done too much conservatives don't approve of. The media? Some conservatives? How about McCain?washingtontimes.com That supports what I said - Bush has done a lot conservatives don't like.>>to the point where some Republicans are actively trying to link themselves to Obama? Fantasy. If there are any like that, we don't need them. Not fantasy at all, and no 'if' about it. Obviously there are these... Pretty unauthoritative links there. One claims Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin and many similar are "shipjumpers" who according to your comment are "trying to link themselves to OBama". What a silly thing to claim. Criticisms of the McCain are not examples of "trying to link themselves to Obama". I'm not gonna bother addressing the more obscure folks you drug up.
