Not "carefree", perhaps? <g>

Yes, the name of the game for the next few years is going to be risk avoidance. There are going to be tons of landmines and blind corners ahead, that even the sharpest will not forsee. Unexpected bad things will appear out of the blue during secular bears. The bear is out to destroy liquidity - and that means hedge funds, banks, his, yours, and mine, too. As AA said, mind your assets...

With that in mind, I don't think I'll be trying to play the wave four when it comes. I'll just hedge my short exposure and watch the fireworks, looking for good short sales. After all, it's a bear market.

Penny for your thoughts on hedging strategy here. I could go SPY, gets lots of materials exposure. However, $NDX seems to have a completed wave structure. $SOX hit the 2002 low, and may be good for a solid bounce.

Diversify the bets?

Ouch - 3PM turn on SPX/NDX/DJIA was solidly down - does not bode well.

EDIT: looks like they might keep the rally going after all. Good, we could use it.

EDIT-2: This is one *titanic* struggle! When the heavies are busy whacking it back and forth in the final hour, you know TSHTF...
