Just finished listening to the Conference Call and reading all the 30 posts accumulated since I left for dinner (after earnings announcement) 1) Borland did GREAT this quarter 2) Shane (post # 6674) - CC tone and substance - comfortably fantastic - Del used words like "Conservatively Optomistic" good words but later in the call he also said "Significant Opportunity) this was a far more positive indication than being conservative. 3) RE; David Ray's posting of the Cooper/Kane article - repeated Del's statement, "As we go into the enterprise space we continue to grow" - during the CC Del enumerated th strategy by saying (a) depends on Java, and (b) JBuilder is 1st, and (c) Intera/Midas is in the middle tier, and (d) C/S Suite is coming. To me this decribes as well thoughtout process which shouldl bring excellent attainable resuls. 4) Other things well addressed in CC - (a) Operating expenses down and will continue to be managed and there was no downsizing this qtr, and (b) revenue growth is coming from BOTH products and alliances, and (c) receivabe days are excellent shape, and (d) their sales model (direct and tele) is intelligently thoughtout and is looking good, and (e) BORL has delivered new products and expect to keep delivering EACH-AND-EVERY quarter. 5) Shane, Gibson, BP, BPP and David - good hearing your views and thanks for your posts 6) Leo - I hadn't noticed your testiness until you left for the week on that Boy Scout camping trip. Since you've been back your posts have been cantakerous/negative - Did you have a close call with a BEAR on the trip that made a lasting impression on you ? or Were there any deer ticks around - you know it can cause dimensia ?? -- Oh well it doesn't matter to you anyway - as you stated - You DON'T hold any BORL. Hope you feel better soon !!
