Remember the liberal Rockefeller Republicans? They started with Dewey in the 40s and the last one I can remember on the national scene would be Gerald Ford.

Sure, and I don't think the middle would agree with anything you just said about the far right's views. I sure don't. The center is a mix of right and left values and opinions. I see them as a brake, sometimes delayed, on the stuff that goes too far in one direction or another. If Obama is to swerve too far left, you will see it show up in the midterm elections.

I think this is a very good thing.
