That's what happens when the marketing department and the MBA's run an engineering business. They have no clue whatsoever how anything works. The pinheads think they can dictate a product development schedule without consulting with the people who will actually do the work. They end up looking like the fools they are, or damage their company reputation be releasing a crap product that doesn't work right. I have worked for companies like this. Most of them are no longer around.

I believe that's the biggest difference between American and Japanese management styles. The Japanese are too smart to intentionally release a piece of crap into the market. American management will knowingly and intentionally do it if they think they can make a few bucks in the short term. Then they whine about no one wanting to buy their products. The big three automakers keep repeating this lesson, but it never seems to stick. I just read this morning that while GM and Ford's quality continues to improve, Chrysler's quality is actually going down. Way to go Cerberus! Classic case of pinhead MBA's running an engineering company. They even made a proven loser the CEO. Nardelli messed up Home Depot during the greatest housing boom in modern history.
