The Republicans are facing annihilation in the Election and are desperate. Desperate times sometimes call for desperate measures, so don't eliminate the possibility that the Treasury will be buying stocks to levitate the market into the Election. It probably won't work, but it might just send the market up 20% in a last-ditch attempt to save some close seats in the House.
