That's probably true in most instances.

But it is also true that most will probably be wiped out if
a 'serious injury, illness' requiring hospitalization and
extended care.

Catastrophic insurance should be needed.

Same goes for car insurance. Most seldom/never used it, but
the 'SYSTEM' is designed so that we cannot afford not to have
it.

It is a very high-maintainance society. That's the reason
they offshore the low-pay hi-tech jobs, or any jobs they can.

Your comment is a classic on why the whole discussion about insurance in America is hopeless: The average American does not have a clue.

You once again miss the point. A lot of men under 30 wisely buy health insurance. Its not about who needs it and who doesn't. Its about freedom to choose how one wants to spend their own money.

Regarding auto insurance you have other choices. Walk. Take the bus. Ride a bike.
