good points. i don't understand why minters cannot get blanks if Kitco is selling 400oz bars close to spot. re: delivery of 100Kshrs worth of GLD as bullion, who would want to do this? that is a lot of money to have delivered to one's residence. considering people rob armored banks with video surveillance to obtain just a few thousand dollars which are traceable, i don't think $7 million of untraceable bullion would be very safe in the average person's backyard. this type of money will continue to sit in vaults, whether under the custody of GLD or somebody else. i doubt the average person could directly get this security as well as insurance for less than the 40bp per year which GLD charges.
