Redistribution is simply a given. That's what taxes do. The only consistent way to oppose redistribution would be to oppose all taxes but that's simply not possible.

I agree that redistribution is a given, but I draw a big red line between it being a byproduct of policy and it being a goal of policy. There are plenty of policies that I support that redistribute wealth but they tend to be those that are necessary to maintain the social peace or are necessary from a humanitarian level. The farther we go from those goals and the closer we move to a straight redistribution goal, the less support I give.

You continue to assert but have never offered am argument for why tax money spent on shared needs such as the military or the justice system is redistribution. I see no redistribution there. Redistribution is taking from one and giving to another. There is no "another" when you spend tax money on aircraft carriers.
