That's just the thing that you and the rest of the right refuse to accept no matter what statistics are shown to you. During the past 8 years, the tax cuts have benefited almost exclusively the rich. This is an absurd remark considering -- a) Bush inherited a recession; b) 9/11 was probably the most economically damaging event to ever occur on our soil, until c) 8/29/05, when Katrina became the most economically damaging event to occur on our soil, until d) Barney Frank and Chris Dodd unleashed the most economically damaging event in our history. So, Bush started with a recesssion off the Clinton presidency, had the huge economic nightmares presented in '01 by 9/11, in '05 by Katrina, and now, in 08, by the Democrats. Yet, our economy continues to function reasonably well, for now. When all of these disasters, manmade and natural, are taken into account, Bush has served as president during the most economically challenging times in the nation's history, PERHAPS other than the Great Depression. I just don't know how anyone can criticize the Bush tax cuts when you consider how well our economy has done under the toughest of circumstances; a person really has to be ultra-partisan or totally blind not to see this. Interestingly, the Dems in Congress were falling all over themselves to do another stimulus check.
