FWIW, Lee Adler at the Stool has outlined some atrocious problems some of the larger Canadian banks have.

Thunder Bay Home:

Two days ago you could have purchased this for $80,000 US. Got close to taking a flyer on it sight unseen, but realtor couldn't answer a couple of my questions. Nice safe haven in case of an emergency. Decent view too for a part time vacation property.

1. In a deflationary environment, how would Canada's economy hold up. I was looking at FXC last night, but got pulled away this AM and missed the move. I think the dollar will again retest resistance.

2. I think all this will end in inflation, but it could be a while before it takes hold. Think of the trillions that have been created, or the market knows will be created, and things are still grinding to a halt. And countries haven't even started blaming us and others yet. This deflation could continue for awhile.

3. OT - Was screwing around on Youtube. This guy had to scare the crap out of parents (especially girls' parents) in the 1950s. youtube.com

"But at least so far no one is saying, "Anyone who has no debt is un-American and must be shot."

Did they "go shopping" after 9/11 like our president urged us to? I think NOT!
