That is definitely an option.

I checked with Qwest and they have a package similar to what I have now for about $100/month, which is $60 les than Comcast is now that I'm off the intro. The internet is DSL, which is 1.5 MBS. I think Comcast's is 6MBS.

I may do as Smithee suggests and play one off the other. I don't really want to change if I can help it.

But I gotta do something.

Agree, except keep the land phone line....Hubby just got a very rude shock a few days ago. His cell phone bill for the month was just under $200! He had made lots of calls on it, because of the collapse, etc....but forgot evidently that he only had 300 minutes in the plan! I have 1000 anytime on mine, which is rare these days, for about the same price per mo as his....

However I use the home line for most of the toll calls (MULTI in this area!) and a good deal of the LD, because Qwest (regular calls) has an ATT LD rate of only $20 for as many LD calls you want to make every month....You have to ask them...they don't just automatically tell you!

Besides all that, I'm mindful that in 2001, all the cell lines went down in the effected areas, and no one could get a call in or out.....Land lines seem to be much more stable in an emergency....even bad wind storms here...
