Re: "the other is dividends in a shared investment." EXCEPT, GZ, that since the citizens of Alaska who are receiving this redistributed wealth did not ever make any 'investment' (your word) in Exxon. (They are not 'shareholders' in Exxon. :-) They are simply benefiting from the redistribution of wealth (from the private corporation to them) that this windfall profits tax produces for them. 'Redistribution of wealth' (to use the currently hot slogan of the McCain/Palin campaign)... or 'Socialism' as many of the pundits are bloviating....
