"Any economist will tell you that sometimes free markets simply cannot even get off the ground without government intervention" has no bearing on the fact that a Free Market by definition cannot contain elements of socialism and still have its existence called a free market, or a result of a free market. How did you get to work today? You left your home which was built to government code, got in your car that was built in compliance with 100's of government regulations, drove on a road that was built and maintained by government, obeying the government speed limits, stopping at the government stop lights and stop signs, watched over by government police. You want a 'free market', go to Haiti... it's so free there is no infrastructure, no rule of law and no way to produce wealth.

Taking the logic of a pure self regulating capitalism state, to its extreme logic, one might argue it could replace democracy. Yeah, I agree with you freedom works.
