I'm afraid I'm now a member of the camp that feels sorry for her

Yeah, I too feel for her as an individual - but one could not have dreamt up a more perfect symbol of the anti-intellectual right wing in the aftermath of the Bush years. It's not a coincidence that so many moderate Republicans are recoiling in horror.

And Obama may exactly be the wrong candidate to give this golden opportunity.

John;

I'm afraid I'm now a member of the camp that feels sorry for her.

Wow, I didn't know that camp had anyone in it. Turn the TV on and listen to her speak, I wonder if you still feel the same way?

We are all responsible for our own actions, she didn't have to accept John's offer. She could have stayed home and ran the State of Alaska and taken care of her kids. Shoot she's still probably nursing the youngest. .......I feel sorry for the people of New Orleans and the Texas coast who to no fault of their own had their life ruined. I also feel sorry for those families who are serving so many times in Iraq and Afghanistan and are apart from their family and who never expected to be put in this position. But am I sorry for Palin who made her own decisions? No.

>>I'm afraid I'm now a member of the camp that feels sorry for her. In over her head without an ability to do what serious vp candidates always do--press interviews; badly handled by the McCain campaign; her Alaska political career in some jeopardy. <<

John -

She's in over her head because she's ambitious beyond her abilities. And she isn't even aware enough to know that. As for her political career in Alaska, apparently they have a tendency to feel that the judgements of those in the "lower 48" aren't welcome up there.

Her approval numbers haven't budged even after the Branchflower report came out. Even her bizarre reaction to the report didn't cause a blip.
