True. I said it in response to this from you: "Another reason to hope the election isn't close, to see the deliberate demonization of not so radical people get rejected by moderate voters." You have no way of knowing if moderate voters are voting for Obama to reject demonization. If you "see" that, it's projection.

True. If he wins, he most definitely wasn't defeated. By that or anything else. The tactics didn't work. Had you originally said "to see that a Rovian campaign did not defeat him," or "to see the deliberate demonization of not so radical people fail to capture moderate voters," I would not have commented.

Thank you for the clarification. Given your explanation, I can now see what you meant to convey. You meant to convey that the demonization tactics were ineffective, that moderate voters were not susceptible to them. What you did convey was a refusal of/backlash by moderate voters against the demonization tactics.
