<iif the moderates embrace demonization but still elect Obama, either they don't care that he is a dangerous lefty hidden radical jihadist, or they prefer that to McCain because they are stupid, or they think McCain is something worse. They don't have to have either embraced it or rejected it. They could simply have tuned it out or not noticed the extent of it. They could be focused on issues (remember issues?) relevant to them like health care, war, oil prices, tax cuts, the Supreme Court, etc. But you will only get a better answer once Tuesday's exit polling is released in detail. I doubt it. I'm not sanguine about either the forthrightness of exit interviews or the capacity of reporters to analyze them beyond their favorite meme. But maybe.
