The Press Release seems to be quite telling.

Several mentions of liquidity <ability to hold out until 1st QTR '98, etc.> combined with retaining BS to explore strategic "alternatives."
If Mike Price is selling, I'm sure it's "alternatives" to bankruptcy.
Further, it's really hard to estimate the value of wholesaling sub-par non-performing loans, but I have to believe the discount would be substantial.

At any rate, I plan to wait until the open before taking a position.
If you're facing a loss, I'd suggest doing the same rather than panic dumping. BS needs time to ascertain the merger options.
