Sigh. You pick one flaw in my statement and then call the whole statement false. That's disingenous. The intent of my statement, which was clear from the context of the conversation was that the tax rates of today are maybe not the lowest in history, but DAMNED CLOSE to the lowest. All you have to do is take a look at the last 50 years of tax rates, which corresponds to my lifespan at this point, to see that.

You may choose to believe that this country has always had low tax rates, but that is hogwash. In addition, what is even more laughable is to call Obama a socialist when he simply wants to get our tax structure back closer to the 90's, which had us at surpluses. That not socialism. That's fiscal responsibility and every real, self-respecting Republican would want that. Only the truly selfish and shortsighted don't care that our deficits are out of control.
