If you look at the site I posted it goes over that AND every other weird rumor attached to the issue point by point. Because the folks who believe in the conspiracy believe they have a whole constellation of points to make. They don't, of course; they either aren't very well informed, or they are in to conspiracy theories (sans proof)- and I agree, ignoring those folks is probably all you can do at this point, since any "fact" is going to be seen as part of a giant conspiracy. Once you play the conspiracy game, you can make all facts irrelevant by merely claiming they are tainted by your (completely unsupported) conspiracy. It's a neat trick, but it's nothing more than a trick.
