I was thinking about immigration in general, which has been a muted issue this campaign. At first, I was thinking depart every one of them they find. But then again, I was thinking about our future problems that we aren't breeding fast enough to solve. If we are going to keep social security and medicare alive, then we need succeeding populations to be larger than preceding ones. If we can't breed fast enough, then we need to close the gap through immigration.

So isn't there a win-win here? Can't we spend some money to find all these illegals and get them on the path to citizenship over the longer term, but get them on the tax rolls in the short term? Isn't that a win-win?

Curious about your thoughts. BTW, I looked at Obama's and McCain's immigration plans. They are virtually identical, so there aren't any substantive differences between them.
