Very interesting. Thanks for posting the links.

It seems like much of Alaska owes Ted Stevens something for all the federal money he has brought to the state. The commercial, at least part of it, seemed to be a sort of nice way of calling in of markers. But it was also a very positive commercial and was very well done. With that in mind, it is not so surprising that he is leading in the vote right now.

If Stevens does get to stay in the Senate, I have to wonder how that will affect Palin. Will she still endorse all the projects that Stevens gets for Alaska after running against all the pork barrel spending? Will there still be increased national exposure for Palin now that she is returning to Alaska and how will that play out? If Stevens doesn't get to take his seat, who does she pick for his spot? Do you think she would pick her "first dude"? Who else would be in the running?
