I see Obama has hired a guy who sent a dead fish to a political opponent as Chief of Staff. Most of the others up for consideration in his staff consist mainly of former Clinton employees.

Change or just a revolving door?

Do you let your biases keep you from hiring good people, or do you ignore those biases? Such a conundrum for a non liberal with a rigidly held ideology, isn't it?

I hope Rhambo takes the Chief of Staff job. Initially, I thought maybe he was too partisan, too mean, too vicious for the job.

On reflection, that's EXACTLY the qualities Obama will need as Chief of Staff. He's going to have a crew of intellectual stars with huge egos who all think they have the ONLY right answers. It will TAKE a Rhambo to keep them all remembering who's boss.

Not sure what I think of the Rahm pick. I don't like him at all; he's a partisan Dem, but he's very conservative. Probably better from my perspective to have him as Chief of Staff than to keep picking conservative Dems for House seats and to be up for Speaker someday.
