so where is the lie on his part? you're the one coming up with the metaphor. and someone responding to it.

technically you are the liar when you said "A poster here claimed Craig Barrett sent his people into customers..." as you can see very clearly from the post you refer, mas only says "his subordinates did" you are the one who is claiming that barret sent them. it's equally likely that the subordinates might have done the deed on their own initiative without being asked by barrett (if there was ever such an action to be fair.)
