NG storage is interesting. At the beginning of the year it was 259 above the 5-yr average. Now it is only 58 over the 5-yr average. Thus, it has lost 201 relative to the 5-yr avg.

This suggests that the demand destruction is not as big as we might think. We are supposed to have supply increases. If demand is going away as much as you suggest, what happened to all the extra gas that was produced?

I am puzzled, the only explanation I have come up with is that all those new houses that were built in the last couple of years need more heating and a/c than the ones they replaced. New houses here in Tulsa are much larger than they were just a few years ago. I worked for 40 years to be able to afford a 4,000 sq. ft. home and the young families are buying larger ones every day. I am amazed!

As is usually the case, a bullish injection report leads to losses in the gas royalty trusts (and vice versa).

Best to all,

JRH
