The only thing that bothers me about Obama now is that he still has kind words for Ronald Reagan. I don't think he has to go negative, but I don't think he should bring up that name.

I have few kind words for Gramps Reagan. But--I think Obama was right to say what he did. He wants to direct a big tent. There are a lot of people who still have warm fuzzies (and more) for RR. At this point, it harms no one and threatens nothing for Obama to say nice things about the man. By praising him now, Obama gets to those people. But Reagan the man is basically irrelevant now, much to chagrin of people like Norquist, Forbes and others who pretend to his "heirs."

If my view of Obama is right, he is operating on a political plane that encompasses far more than you and me and virtually everyone else in this country. He has a mixture of cold analytic abilities along with a visionary goals. As has been said of someone else, he has his feet on the ground and his head in the clouds. Something like that.

Mea culpa.

That's funny you would say this. As much as I admired Hillary, too, for the last three days I've been thinking how Obama is absolutely the right person for the country right now. I started feeling this way within a few days of the banking debacle and market collapse, and the third debate sealed it for me.

I wish she'd been treated better and hope her political future will be satisfying to her, but right now I'm totally pleased with the Obama-Biden team.
