< I suspect that the fish, if made to understand the rules of the fishing game and asked whether or not they'd like to participate, would decline.>

I personally stopped fishing for that reason and prefer to dangle my feet in the water as opposed to worms. To anyone with sensitivity it is apparent that fish are suffering. I suppose a lot of people would eat less meat if they had to actually kill the animal they eat. I know I would. So, in lieu of being a vegan, I advocate sustainable and compassionate animal husbandry. Isn't that an interesting term - animal husbandry?

There was a movie, called Zoo, about a real bestiality case in Washington State (if I recall correctly). Interesting movie.

I always liked spearfishing (without scuba gear) as a way to catch fish ... you're in the fish's element and he knows exactly what you are up to cause you are chasing him with a long pointy thing in your hand.
