SH,

i got called, too. it was one of those cases where you had to believe the officer because there wasn't much evidence beyond the officer's word and his assessments.

anyway, the defense kept booting people and they finally called me. they asked if i had any bad experiences with law enforcement. why yes, now that you mention it, i have. i was followed and wrongfully pulled over by an officer. he lied and said i was swerving, which was patently false. after giving me a sobriety check, he let me go, but i didn't appreciate being illegally inconvenienced and interrogated because this officer decided he wanted to investigate me.

the prosecution "thanked" me for my candor, but truly they wished i had shut up since their whole case centered around the jury believing it to be unreasonable a police officer could lie.

anyway, getting paid for a day of reading a good book isn't all that bad.

Yeah, they can still get you. I have no problem with it except that I hate to drive downtown during Rush Hour and then spend my entire jury duty fee on "discounted" parking. If I buy lunch, I'm dipping into my poker money. <G>
