Vinter: ">>
I have an edge on you here inasmuch I have been trained in the law (I am not claiming legal expertise in this area) so in a sense it is not fair of me to ask you to make a legal argument, BUT it is exactly this kind of legal argument which the people who will be conferring or denying the gay community the "right" they seek will have to contend.<<

Koan: That is Ok, don't be gentle with me-lol.

Look Vinter, lets take the idea of "law" up a notch i.e. ultimately the law is existential and our founding fathers set up an existential country and consitution i.e. the country can ammend the constitution.

Also, did the consitution allow, or disalow slavery or segregation? No, the congress and cuntry allowed them, slavery and segregation; and the consitution was impotent to stop either. But the country subsequently changed those laws and the law evolved.

Ultimately, our founding fathers set up a constitution which allowed the law to evolove existentially along with our culture.

And just as racism and sexism are now disallowed by our laws, soon gay bashing will be disallowed. Gay marriage and full inclusion is only a slightly more sophisticated concept than racial equality and sexual equality.
