You're making good arguments and pushing me further out on this lonely limb. :) Let me back up by saying that when this discussion started last night, and I thought about it before I posted anything, my first thought was something along the lines of 'I'm glad I don't have to vote on that' because I am sympathetic to all the comments people have made, esp. laws that make people feel second-class. But I immediately thought of my personal rule that not voting is a cop-out, and decided that in that situation I would have to make a difficult decision between competing principles that I value. So I've tried to explain how I would have voted on this one issue and why. Having explained my theology, do you see how I couldn't vote any other way....on this one issue? Maybe I'm being inconsistent here, but if presented with the opportunity to vote for or against using state constitutions to establish morality, theocracies, or define what is or isn't a sin, I would vote no. All I really am sure of now is that I'll probably henceforth keep my votes, and my hypothetical votes, private. :<) I have to run now.
