But you and I can break open the champagne, and go out and buy some fabulous canapes and a big bunch of arugula to munch with our liberal friends :-) Because We Can, We Did, and now We Can Celebrate :-) The folks on the right won't be happy even if Obama succeeds wildly. Me, I would have been happy with Mr. Bush if the war in Iraq had gone as well as planned (we would have been out long ago, and Iraq would not have been ethnically cleansed), and if our economy was on some sort of sound footing- wouldn't have to be as good as the Clinton years, but just not the mess it is now. But no. He hasn't done so well Mr. Bush. I don't think the money we've spent in Iraq was worth squat. Here's hoping President Elect Obama wildly disappoints those poor souls who want him to do badly. I hope they are miserable for the entire 8 years of the Obama presidency, as (I hope) the country begins to turn a corner economically.

Of course, because their worldview necessitates it, they are blissfully unaware of the reams of copy written about all of these things. That's what we see all over SI too. Every one of these "controversies" showed up in the main print and broadcast outlets, got an airing and nothing stuck. The problem for the wingers is that they desperately needed to have the crap stick. When it didn't, they were left babbling about birth certificates and such just days before Obama won an electoral landslide.
