If you call the current circumstances "OK"......

If population had plateaued at 1980 levels, I contend many of the current issues would also be solved (or much closer to solved) including Peak Oil, global hunger and climate change. And to a lesser extent, the credit bubble itself.

It is however the ultimate political 3rd rail. The Chinese have grappled with it a bit, the Indians less so, all others not at all.
