Bush may have, as politicians are prone to doing, tried to claim "credit" for what had happened -- but he did not MAKE it happen. Frank and Dodd and others on the left did.

LOL...funny. If the real estate market had not tumbled as it did, and banks were profiting from all the lending they did, you'd be the first boldly taking credit for bush's visionary leadership.

I was talking to a CitiBank employee last week...she and her husband had bought a second home in south florida as an investment and rented it...they had paid $400K for it, mortgaging most of that. Now that house is worth $220K and they could not afford to pay the mortgage and were walking away from it. Nothing to do with political or ethnic or low income ownership...strictly speculation and greed on their part, aided by shoddy banking. That story can be told a thousands of times...infact if you had watched the NBC Today show this morning you would have seen another example of it, again in South Florida, and told as a typical example of what is happening down there over and over.
