There's a crisis all right.

But i'm sorry to say i'm not convinced this 700B bailout isn't just another way for the Bush administration to funnel treasury money to their friends, regardless of its impact on the crisis.

I don't trust the integrity of this administration.

I think when a President, any President, goes to congress and tells them things are dire, that immediate action is required, the congress is likely to respond. It's hard not to.

When it comes to these really big issues (national security, a massive economic crisis) congress instinctively trusts the integrity and good will of the executive branch. I think that's good, and normal.

But in this case, i'm not sure it's wise.
