There is some truth to that, but it can work the other way as well.

I will confess that I've picked juries based on how I think women of my age would react to my opponent or various witnesses in the case.

I'll never forget one trial when I was still in my 30's. My opponent was probably somewhere in his 50's. He was sort of a windbag like Winchester in Mash. Very annoying. He also had a propensity to be rude.

I decided to look for women in their late 30's and 40's for the jury on the thought that he would irritate them as much as he irritated me.

At the end of the case, after the verdict was in, 7 female jurors, plus one Filipino man who bonded with them, hurried over to me and asked this question: "Is that man married? What woman could live with him?"

I lol'ed.
Ya gotta know your audience.
