We have been over this before. And, if you remember, the examples you came up with were purely under control of management.

His political reality requires him to place the blame on unions for the misfortunes of GM...and while it may be true that the unions have exacted taxing demands on car makers, the sad truth is that a compare of GM line up and let's pick Nissan for the heck of it shows a pretty good example of the difference between the two companies. I was surfing the two sites this morning...take a look. You can buy a dizzying array of different SUVs and trucks from GM.

PS: The GM web site sucks by the way

Correct. Which is what the 14 points is all about. It is pretty clear from your posts that you don't understand Deming's methods.

Actually, that is NOT what the 14 points are all about. It is one of them.

The extent of my knowledge of Deming is what I got out of a couple of Policy & OR courses years ago, which wasn't much. But apparently, you don't have very much knowledge of the subject either.

At any rate, you've missed the point entirely. You cannot successfully implement Deming's programs when you have unions dictating the operations of the company and this is precisely the case with the Big 3.

I might add that it has become clear to even many democrats that what I said here months ago is correct: The unions are the problem. That's why there is a movement to make any bailout contingent on union concessions.
