All Al Qaeda had to do was make a few things go BOOM....

If it was that easy you would think it would be happening every week, instead of twice in our history.

Ted, then why didn't Al Qaeda pull off any attacks recently?

Because they are not as sophisticated, organized and powerful as you think they are. They do not have a standing army and the resources of a nation to draw on. About every ten years, they get lucky and do some serious damage. Otherwise they are this rag tag bunch leaving in caves.

One of the reasons why Obama won was because the financial crisis shifted the focus of the campaign away from foreign policy and terrorism. All Al Qaeda had to do was make a few things go BOOM and "refocus" the campaign back to the issues in which McCain did better.

I don't think they are capable of making things go BOOM. Remember, donations to al Qaida pretty much dried up about two years ago when Muslims got turned off with their tactics in Iraq. Even the Iraqi Sunnis got fed up with them. Plus, I think al Qaida is pretty much leadershipless. I believe bin Laden died a long time ago.
