I recall Rubin calling "W" in late '01 and begging for Enron to be bailed out. "W" told him to pound sand. It turns out Citi was a big time bag holder of Enron securities.

Evidently we taxpayers prefer banking and finance bailouts as opposed to industrial bailouts.
