"There are cases where the Escalade is the most efficient mode of transport"

Where the blinged-out pimp rapper chooses to take the thrifty Escalade over the gas-hog stretch limo?

There are cases where the Escalade is the most efficient mode of transport - where one Escalade is used instead of a small car and a small truck to get people and things from Point A to Point B.

good points. i have heard they use tractor-trailers and buses to move people around in fuel-poor Cuba.

i agree with your idea of taxing fuel. however, it has the drawback of being too rational. in America, you never want to do something rationally if there is a stupider way to sort of accomplish the same thing.

other day i was at an Office Depot and the whole front row of parking spots (aside from those devoted to the handicapped) was reserved for parking by "Fuel Efficient Vehicles Only". LOL, what a bunch of retards. a guy with an SUV could drive one block, whereas somebody driving a Toyota Pious might be coming from ten miles away. a new SUV from Lexus meets stringent ULEV standards. a ten-year-old Geo is much worse for the atmosphere.

it is just a new form of conspicuous consumption, this time egged on by politically correct mgmt retards throughout the kleptocorporate bureaucracy.
