I've always maintained that ones tolerance for boredom has to be awfully high to spend a lifetime working for a large corporation. I personally don't see how people do it.

So, the clear inference here is that you have not worked in such an environment, yet you speak authoritatively as if you were a lifetime insider...let me tell you that there are scores of people at the helm of or in high ranking office at these companies , who get by on compelling personal traits, but haven't got a clue what they are doing business wise. They gamble with the fortunes of the companies for which they are given responsibility, but they often know very little about the core businesses they run and they are extremely vulnerable to tactical decision making at the expense of long term strategy...

Get them starry eyes off your face...the really good ones are rare...

The secret of success in a large corporation is to genuinely want to chase superiors down the hall when you see them pass your door to brown nose them.
