It is a little presumptuous for YOU to tell ME anything about financial statements. However, if one simply adds back the per-vehicle charges for union-related costs versus TM's non-union production (all well-publicized by professional analysts who have discussed these matters with management) you can quickly determine that GM's losses would be eradicated were it not for these additional costs. All of which, of course, are part of the "margin" calculation.

Show us the actual numbers.

The pension problems are huge, and aren't even considered in my remarks. Add that in and the picture is even worse.

Unions are THE problem. Without that problem GM's cash position would be just fine.


Prove it......show us the numbers that support your theory.

There are a lot people who offer opinions that don't understand enough about what they write. Accounting is relatively simple yet few people get it.

I don't know about fine, but it would be much better.
